At Al-Baaqi Foundation, Masjid Development & Religious Services are at the heart of our mission. The masjid is more than a place of prayer – it is the spiritual, educational, and social center of the Muslim community. It is where faith is strengthened, knowledge is shared,
families gather, and unity is built.

We are committed to supporting the establishment, expansion, and maintenance of masajid across Saskatchewan to meet the growing needs of our community.

Establishing New Masajid

As our community continues to grow, so does the need for accessible and welcoming places of worship. Al-Baaqi Foundation works to identify areas with increasing Muslim populations, secure suitable land and facilities, develop sustainable plans for construction and operation, and ensure compliance with local regulations and community standards.

Our goal is to create masajid that are not only places of worship but also vibrant community hubs that serve generations to come.

Expansion and Infrastructure Development

Many existing masajid face space limitations due to community growth. We support expansion projects that include enlarging prayer halls for Jumu’ah and Eid prayers, creating dedicated spaces for sisters and families, developing classrooms for Islamic education, adding
multi-purpose halls for community programs, and enhancing accessibility for seniors and individuals with disabilities.

Through careful planning and community support, we ensure that our masajid remain welcoming, safe, and functional for all.

Maintenance and Sustainability

Maintaining a masjid requires ongoing care and resources. The Foundation prioritizes facility maintenance and upgrades, utility and operational support, safety and security systems, and clean and comfortable prayer environments.

We also promote sustainable practices and long-term financial planning to ensure that our masajid remain strong and stable institutions.

Religious and Spiritual Programs

Masjid development goes beyond buildings – it is about nurturing faith. Through our religious services, we provide daily prayers and Jumu’ah
services, Ramadan programs and Taraweeh prayers, Eid celebrations and community gatherings, Qur’an classes and Islamic studies, youth halaqas and mentorship programs, family and marriage seminars, and interfaith and community engagement initiatives.

These programs foster spiritual growth, strengthen identity, and encourage active participation in community life.

A Center for Unity and Service

The masjid serves as a place where people come together in times of joy and hardship. It is a center for community support and charitable
outreach, counseling and guidance, volunteer coordination, and social connection and belonging.
